Dylan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Tigers are not Afraid never pulled its punches and I honestly respect that. It wanted to tell a dark story about real world violence and the effects it has on people, especially kids, and it never shy away from it.
I enjoyed that the supernatural elements were pretty subdued, the real horror here comes from the real people. Although, I wish the supernatural aspect felt more..real? I'm not sure how to describe it, it feels like the only character in the story that acknowledges or is aware of the supernatural is Estrella, which made it feel like it was more likely some sort of fairytale she was making up to cope with the events of what was happening. Perhaps that was the point, not too sure.
Really great though!
