Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere

I had been looking forward to seeing this ever since it was announced, as Bruce Springsteen is one of my favorite artists, and I did mostly enjoy it. I got a little more emotional than I was expecting. It’s somewhat similar to most biopics, which is fine. It’s hard to make them standout and feel different from other biopics, which again, is not a huge complaint from me because I’m not expecting a lot. Jeremey Allen White was unsurprisingly amazing and it is insane how much he actually sounds like Springsteen here. The fact that Bruce Springsteen himself basically said that he was struggling to tell if that was him or White singing is wild. Genuinely just blown away. White for sure deserves to be nominated, but he’s still not my pick to win, at least for right now. The standout for me though, was Jeremy Strong. He’s an incredible actor, and I can’t believe I haven’t seen Succession yet. He’s plays such a calm and collected character, and it’s just so captivating simply because it’s Jeremy Strong.

Overall, I think most biopics will always be in that 3.5-4 star rating for me, which is not a bad thing, but I think it’s just hard for most of them to ever really get to that next level if that makes sense. Still enjoyed this though and the acting was great, but can understand why someone would consider this a snooze fest.
