Halloween III: Season of the Witch
★★★★★

Rewatched 01 Oct 2016

The subtitle is fitting, as this is the film that will always feel most like fall to me. It's impossible not to get caught up in the pitch black atmosphere and feel an October breeze blow a chill up your spine as the odd, nonsensical mystery unfolds. I still imagine living on an alternate timeline, where this didn't bomb and we ended up getting a feature length horror anthology installment each year. Carpenter's best score. Cundey's best photography. Atkins' second best performance (behind NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, of course). A buzzing, synth-driven midnight movie spell.
