Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
Hey, let's get all GERMAN EXPRESSIONISTIC up in here!
A silent film, but also NO Intertitle Cards with dialogue written on them. So totally without dialogue - spoken or written.
Great use of shadows (go figure with a title like that) and lighting. The shadows are also an integral part of the plot and story when a Performer who uses puppets and shadows shows up at the dinner party and offers a look ahead as it were and shakes up the party vibe.
It turns out to be pretty clever and deeper than I expected.
And even though everyone who was in or involved with this over 100 year old movie is now dead... good job, guys.
