Possession has to be one of the most frenetic and insane pieces of cinema I've ever seen. I'm not entirely sure I understood it, but I certainly enjoyed it. It felt like both Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani were in a constant battle to out insane eachother. Isabella definitely won. That subway sequence is a bit wild, even before all the bodily fluids.

At no point does the movie slow down, it always feels like the characters and the story are on the move, not to mention the camera which, like Sam Neill in a rocking chair, can barely sit still.

The ending, all the wild tentacle stuff...its a lot to process. I think for now, 4 stars feels right, but I'll definitely rewatch at some point and attempt to process it all more clearly.
