HOOPTOBER 12
Entry 16: Postapocalypse
First of all, great unofficial adaptation of SOMETHING from the Last of Us games, mucho respecto, I see you, Trey Shults
Second of all, I despise the "elevated horror" label, people who use it are all cowards
Overall a pretty good story about paranoia in a tight space. To be fair, I really don't like the "people are the real monsters" genre, it takes away the metaphor element of the story, but here it is a key element of the suspense, so I'll let it slide. Edgerton is frightening here and Abbott is a good counterpart to him. The score is fucking unsettling and well.
As they say - this shit brought a mirror before me and I didn't like what I see. Family blindspots are so real.
