HORROR MOVIE #171
Day 23: Do you Hear the Lambs Screaming? 🐑
I’d been postponing watching this movie ever since it came out. Even though everyone kept saying it’s good and worth watching, I just couldn’t give in because it looked kinda trashy and cliché to me. But when I was picking movies for day 23 and saw Longlegs on the list, I was like, “Screw it, I HAVE to finally watch this.” And man, I’m so glad I did.
It’s definitely not “the scariest movie of the decade”, but it keeps you so tense the whole time. The story follows a woman who starts working on a really strange case, only to find herself pulled into a web of secrets, and eventually discovering she’s more connected to it than she ever expected.
The story and ending were great, and the acting wasn’t bad either (Nicolas Cage OMG what a performance!!!). I did miss a little side story, though, and felt like some scenes were just repeating - especially when they kept showing the same flashbacks multiple times.
Still, there’s an amazing mix of horror, crime, and disturbing murders (even though most of them are talked about rather than shown) that makes the whole movie work perfectly and gives you unsettling and creepy vibe that stays with you even after watching.
If you’re into slow-burn horrors that focus more on atmosphere than gore, Longlegs is definitely worth checking out.
