Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
I didn't LIKE this movie.
But I was UTTERLY FASCINATED by this movie.
It's like 12 different genres all squashed together into one film.
And none of them get along or play well together.
Makes a bizarre combo of stories and styles and who-the-fuck-knows.
There's also so many scenes that drag on forever without adding anything... except running time. Literal silent scenes of just "acting business" minus the acting and you wonder why the editor wasn't dragged behind the barn and shot.
I think I liked the spy scenes the most. Although when they deem to let the occasional Astro-Zombie show up and do some killing, those are pretty good. Senseless, but enjoyable.
This movie is a mixed bag of nothing.
Again... utterly fascinating filmmaking all around.
