Coraline
★★★½

Coraline is visually stunning. It’s probably the most flawless stop-motion I’ve ever seen and I have a huge soft spot for claymation. The story is surprisingly creepy for a children’s film and had I been younger when it came out, I likely would’ve loved it. Watching it at this age, it’s still cute and enjoyable, albeit a bit simplistic. Coraline and her parents were both pretty awful at times — enough so that I didn’t particularly feel too sympathetic toward any of the characters (except poor Wybie).

The Scottie dogs were an absolute delight and their owners were a hoot.
