Incredible movie again by the maestro Jacques Tourneur, and in about an hour he portrays such a deep and profound understanding of slavery, colonisation, the existence of African diaspora forcibly removed from their homelands all through the mythos of zombie. Was blown away multiple times at so much of the cinematic decisions that work so brilliantly and also by the depiction of black people and their culture with so much empathy without turning them into caricatures. Outstanding!
