Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
In 1979, director Sergio Martino had this movie as well as his "ISLAND OF THE FISHMEN" movie released... both of which starred Barbara Bach and Claudio Cassinelli.
I'm sure there's a story there... so, yeah. Go knock yourself out and find out why Martino thought that Bach and Cassinelli were the "It" couple of 1979.
This movie about a huge alligator and a local native tribe both killing everyone and everything around them... has its moments.
However, outside of a "spunky kid" who goes around smart-mouthing all the nearby adults, there's not a lot of excitement here. I mean... deaths do occur every now and again. And towards the end, there's huge amounts of casualties.
But still... for a man-eating monster movie, it's surprisingly ho-hum.
(...kinda wish the wise-cracking kid would've gotten eaten up, but oh well...)
