HOOPTOBER 12
Entry 14: A Tobe Hooper Movie (there always must be one)
Never seen it before and was pleasantly surprised (was not amused by the fact that the otherwise all-around good family had their first child when mother was 15 [or 16, whatever]) by how good it still is. SFX, directing, tight script, fake-out ending, they knew what they were doing.
I refuse to watch any sequels (not because I despise the idea of cash-grab sequels, god forbid, I've watched my fair share of Hellraisers) because THIS FAMILY HAS HAD ENOUGH.
Also that big fucking skeleton-like ghost? Amazing tech for 1982, Spielberg is the GOAT (sorry, I do realize that Tobe had his work done here, and I respect that, but most of the time movie just screams SPIELBERG)
P.S. I don't think the movie is cursed, just a lot of unlucky circumstances all around. Still sad about Heather and Dominique, though :(
