Extreme close up of eyes, cut, extreme close up of hands, cut, extreme close of mouth, cut, extreme close of hair, cut, extreme close up of feet, cut...

The sound of gasping, silence, the sounds of moaning, silence, the sounds of grunting, silence, the sounds of running, silence....

Bodies, bodies, bodies. The bodies that surround us, the bodies that becomes us. The bodies that define us and the bodies that scare us. The bodies that we had and the bodies that we'll have. The bodies we resented and the bodies that we loved. The bodies that grew and the bodies that were lost. The psychosexual existence of our bodies shaped by the experiences that surround us.

Amer is an audio visual experience unlike anything I've seen or heard. Veering along the lines of experimental with almost no meaningful line of dialogue or much of a traditional plot but explores something that's fundamental to our existence in a breathtaking manner. That was an experience and a half. I've never seen human bodies photographed this uniquely ever. The stylistic homages to Italian giallos only enhances an already brilliant movie. A goddamned masterpiece!
