Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie is great!
Just loved it.
Vampire Bats carrying Bubonic Plague terrorizing a small Arizona desert town. Yes, please!
This actually gives off big Tony Hillerman vibes. Love his detective books involving Native American culture. Actually one of Hillerman's main characters is also named "Chee" as is a character in this film. (I actually had to check to see if Hillerman wrote this or was involved in some way - but not that I can find).
Anyway, this is a solid "creature feature" that has a supporting role played by David Warner who plays an expert whose life goal is trying to exterminate all the vampire bats in the world. Kind of like a Van Helsing one would say. ...heh...
Add to that some beautiful cinematography which almost makes you forget about all the fake bat scenes, and a score by Henry Mancini... and you got yourself a winner!
