A critique of mindless conformity and willingness to surrender individuality in favor of fitting in. It was genuinely eerie watching the city’s residents gather to collect their pods.
In terms of rewatchability, the 1978 remake takes the cake for me, but I love that each version has a unique ending and setting — it’s enough to differentiate the two without one taking away from the other.
