The real killer in The Mangler was the complete lack or any sort of health and safety. Maybe just like..don't shove your hand into the giant deadly machine and you'll be fine.

The Mangler has all the makings of a fun cult classic, it's based on a Stephen King short story, directed by Tobe Hooper, starring Robert Englund, what could go wrong?

Quite a lot actually.

It's just a bit shit. It doesn't do enough to develop any of the characters, so it's really hard to care about what happens to any or them. It's boring too, any other slasher movie and the killer could be anywhere at any time...a constant threat to the protagonists...in The Mangler it sits in the same spot in the factory unable to move for 95% of the runtime, just like...don't go near it. The concept just doesn't really work.

Some good gore though, there's always that.
