Ghoul Gruel’s review published on Letterboxd:
Almost turned it off in the first few minutes coz it felt like a young teen Netflix movie. I had to remind myself it’s literally called Pussycake. But even with that name, some nekkid bits, drug use, none too shabby prosthetics, lots of milky voms and custard mouths, and loads of bloody practical effects, it still felt like it was made for kids. Something in the script and the way it’s put together. Basic. Messy. A well trodden and ingrained formula. Super polished with no grit and no stakes. Even the band’s performance was gutless made-for-radio rock. And there’s this anti-hero character straight outta Power Rangers for some reason.
Weird.
I dunno if you can be bored with all the candy colours and blood but it’s obvious something’s missing.
