Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
I guess this is sorta horror-adjacent, but mostly it's just a straight up mystery-thriller in the Film Noir style of the era.
Some twists and turns, but not "too" twisty or turny, really. Everything is pretty much what we expect. Only one element that is interesting (that's the horror-adjacent part) but it's not that keyed in on and so loses all its power for the most part.
Everything is adequately good. Acting, directing, style, pace. It's all just... well... fine. There's nothing wrong with it. And I usually enjoy a good Noir. But this one didn't latch on for me. But I can understand most others diggin' it to some degree.
But will I ever visit this one again, personally?
Doubt it.
Will probably forget I ever watched it by tomorrow.
