Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
Low budget UK indie that looks pretty damn good.
Mild-mannered looking dude has returned home from the military to look for his missing (presumed dead) sister. There's a local (ominous seeming) yearly festival that's about to happen. Turns out that the sister went missing about the time of last year's festival.
Hmmmmmmm....
Also turns out that the dude looking for his sister was a badass interrogator in the military and - although he doesn't look like it - he will whoop a mutherfucka's ass.
The movie is a slowly unwrapping mystery, with some strong acting and a great sense of tone and atmosphere. It really worked for me and I was invested.
The ending offers an answer of sorts... but also more questions.
Overall, a nice surprise of a film.
