If we choose to forget the whole naivety of the 40s cinema and the age that clearly is showing, we got ourselves a really sad story about the woman and her beliefs, about her place in society of that era (not only that era, but that's the story for another time) and the whole "a man knows better" BS

It's (almost) not scary in terms of modern horror, but it frightens you with ideas of what can happen to a person if someone deems her "not believable enough"; especially if that someone has a medical diploma and also tries to rape the said person but fuck around and find out I guess.

Also, there's a tramcar screamer that nearly made me shit myself.
