I was worried at first that you'd would be a pretty sub-standard zombie story, but as soon as they started diving into the idea of teaching zombies to be civilized, I perked up immediately. One of the only pieces of zombie fiction I've seen to truly treat zombies as diseased people rather than monsters, and I really admire that. It maybe could have gone farther with that idea, and I'd be interested to see another talented writer take a serious stab at it.
Definitely not as good as the previous Romero zombie movies, but even then you can't deny Romero's gift for horror during his stride.
