Great Shaw Bros film in every respect. Lo Lieh wants a better life than being poor with a wife who has TB. After saving a a noble woman from being attacked in the woods with his brother, after they murdered someone for his money of course, he gets offered that chance by marrying her. Lots of conspiracies, pinning crimes on people but it all winds up with his wife being murdered. Then we get some fantastic practical haunting effects. Disembodied heads, body parts flying everywhere, and spooky apparitions that appear during sex. You have to love the lighting that they did on this film making every specter just truly pop. Satisfying conclusion, a real winner from Jang Il-ho. Hopefully this one will get a nice release here in the States.

Seeing a lot of reviews that it has too much melodrama in it and like that's most Shaw Bros films especially the horror ones. Gotta set up the players before we get to the good stuff and boy oh boy did we get the good stuff.
