No one does body horror like Cronenberg. This was disgusting & slimy that squicks you out but you can't look away. Marilyn Chambers is fantastic as Rose. I found her use of seduction to lure men for her meal to be cunty af. But the story is a little all over the place. The outbreak its self is handled so poorly it feels satirical. Maybe that's deliberate but it felt out of place from the tone of the rest of the movie. All and all a solid if flawed 70's horror cinema time capsule.
