Ghoul Gruel’s review published on Letterboxd:
“Isn’t there enough atrocity in the world without your own little horror?”
Fucking hell that opening score has me plugged right in.
Aesthetically, this straddles the line between the 80’s and 90’s perfectly. It’s the best mainstream elements of both decades, including its modest budget and a known and respectable cast that hadn’t reached Hollywood A-list yet.
I like that the story is contained to this group. There’s no secondary point of view like cops or school administrators or anything to split the focus and tone. Plus I’ll always love that classic ‘introduce the character and get them on board’ thing. I was fucking gripped.
The young Sutherland actor is so well cast.
I wanna wrap myself up in Julia’s hair
“I’m sorry, God, I’m sorry we stepped on your fuckin territory! I’m sorry! Is that enough!?”
