Guillermo del Toro is brilliant at exploring the human condition and the the inherent greed that drives them to become the most evil versions of themselves. With the backdrop of Spanish civil war, the rot within becomes that much more apparent. A great exploration of despicable men in despicable times contrasted with the enduring power of children's innocence. Gorgeous film!
