This was a great choice for my Sports Cinema Challenge 2000s pick because between the fashion, gender politics, and amazing soundtrack (TWO All-American Rejects songs‽) it's such a perfect time capsule. The premise of a girl pretending to be her own twin brother to play on a soccer team is ridiculous, but the cast is charming and it's silly enough that you just kinda have to go with it. Bynes plays soccer in flip flops during the opening credits and without tying her hair back during the big game, both of which seem to be inviting injury to me.
