Hooptober 12 #4

I'm not much of a silent film guy tbh, but this was cool. The fantastical imagery is awesome and absolutely haunting. Though, some of the simpler shots look a bit flat in my opinion. Still, the effects are impressive especially for the time. I love a good puppet. I also love a bad puppet. There's an argument to be made that this film has both. The fact that all this was possible over 100 years ago makes me wonder what's truly possible nowadays with just a camera and some creative thinking.

Not a bad choice for when you just want to soak in some spooky atmosphere, but I'd be lying if I said it completely held my attention throughout.
