Dylan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Seen a lot of comparisons to Nightmare on Elm Street 3 before I sat down to watch this, lots of people calling it derivative or a copy, but I feel like that's a surface level comparison at best. Sure, it's shares some elements, like the setting, dreams playing a factor in the plot and a burned killer, but it feels like the writers take advantage of those comparisons and your expectations to surprise you. Bad Dreams is made better by going in expecting Dream Warriors.
The love the twisted, 70s hippy cult vibe. The soundtrack is amazing, it takes a bunch of classic songs like "Time has Come Today" and uses them to create such an unsettling atmosphere.
I think if you're a fan of the Nightmare movies, you'll probably enjoy this, it's great and it clearly got lost in the pile of other 80s slasher, it's a total hidden gem.
Also, you can tell the cop in this is not paid enough to give a shit about any of the insanity going on.
