Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
Well, it's got quite the cast.
James Mason.
A very young Jane Seymour.
Sir John Gielgud.
Sir Ralph Richardson.
The 4th Doctor Who.
A Famous Romeo.
They ain't playin' around.
I think the "True Story" title is a dig at other Frankenstein films, as this one tries to stick to the book for the most part... but does stray a bit from time to time. So, don't go pointin' fingers too much, this movie.
The performances are damned solid - as you would expect with this cast. And, overall, it's pretty entertaining.
It's just too long at over 3 hours.
Needed extra boxes of Milk Duds for this one.
