"I thought YOU was in a hurry!"
What a way to kick off Hooptober XII!
Unbelievably, this was my first time seeing Tobe Hooper's genre-defining slasher. It's crude and unpolished, and it's a lot of fun. Even after more than half a century there's some genuinely scary moments here, and some surprisingly beautiful cinematography for such a gritty film; that final shot is so unsettling but aesthetically stunning.
Don't mess with Texas, man.
