Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is like a detective/mystery/thriller/body-horror/sci-fi film.
Yeah, nothing like combining every genre you can get your hands on.
Well, it's our ol' friend David Cronenberg back again to throw his craziness our way. And - let me be clear:
I LOVE THE CRAZY SCI-FI PREMISE OF THIS FILM!
It's creepy as fuck.
Right in the ol' Cronenberg wheelhouse.
And I was ready to give this 4 stars or more.
But the ending is just terrible.
A non-ending really. And that ruins the whole film for me.
Dammit.
It has three actors that I love doing great work: Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger and Guy Pearce.
All three of these are great.
And the ride along is deliciously bleak.
The mystery/thriller part works so well too.
Then the movie just trickles out... and it's over.
So disappointing.
I demand more, Mr. Cronenberg.
I.
Demand.
More.
Get on it, son.
