Don’t ever trust a nosy neighbor. Or a man, for that matter.
This is an incredibly disturbing film that doesn’t rely on jump scares or gore. Exploitation of the female body will unfortunately always be a terrifying topic. I actually came across a post on Reddit today where a woman discovered her fiancé was stealing her underwear and selling them to creeps via Craigslist. The details of her experience and levels of betrayal were shocking — very much in parallel with this story.
On another note, Mia Farrow is a delight as Rosemary and her wardrobe in the film is spectacular. I want to be her, but I also don’t for obvious reasons…
I thought I watched this in its entirety at some point in my life, but now I believe I was mistaken. The film’s reputation simply precedes itself that much, for good reason.
