I will admit to having watched a kill count of this movie a few years ago, so unfortunately I did not go into it blind.
Lupita Nyong’o is one of the greatest actors currently on our radar and she CARRIES this film. Don’t get me wrong, all of the acting in this film is good but she goes above and beyond. I believed every second of her performance as both characters.
Now it was a little slow or confusing at points but I can forgive that. A point I will mention that annoyed my fiancé more than it did me, the somewhat forced comedy. The sound design is amazing but the use of “funny” song choices during big fight scenes did take away from it at times.
All round a very impactful movie, but one that I am left with a lot of questions about.
