[Criteria: 1/4 films based on a novel]

I've seen all kinds of haunted house horrors so the novelty factor that it once is completely gone for me but even then I do try to find something interesting in the way these films approach the setting. I just wish I found something interesting with The Amityville Horror but for majority of the film I was bored out of my mind and when it ends on a fairly abrupt note I felt next to nothing. The only saving grace were James Brolin and Margot Kidder making this somewhat watchable.
