Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
"Don't be such a baby you are wearing a Kevlar vest".
Ok, so time for me to Sagesplain again. Kevlar vests are not magical force fields. They work by dissipating the kinetic energy from a bullet over a larger area. Basically it makes it so the momentum of the bullet instead of being put into a tiny space pushing into your skin, it spreads the energy.
But to those of you that remember physics than energy doesn't go away. Being shot with a vest still will often break ribs, cause internal bleeding, ext. It's VERY DANGEROUS to be shot while wearing a vest. Not as dangerous as without it, but still dangerous.…
The opening of the film perfectly sets up the fun tone, the Mayor of a small holiday town re-opens the beach after a string of shark attacks promising that the shark responsible has been caught and killed but what do you know, as soon as the kids jump in the water a great white shark starts circling them and its up to laidback, ladies man, dude bro shark hunter extraordinaire Chase Walker (Derek Theler) to save the day.
The story then picks up when Chase's services are acquired by his brother, the head of a crime ring to catch a black finned shark which has swallowed a valuable diamond, Chase hooks up with his brothers Lawyer Jasmine (Erica Cerra) and…
shark killer eh? alot more people killing than shark killing
if Chris Pratt was taller and swole and took on sharks
alot better than I even expected, it had some fun humour and action
what more do you want? maybe more sharks
Hello everyone I am starting a new arc,
An arc, where I find movies that are very obscure and hard to find, download them, preserve them and release them in order to make them more accessible to other people, and today its this one, its only available on YouTube, but sooner or later it will get taken down because copyright is such a pain in the ass.
As someone who is a huge fan of low budget shark movies, this movie gave me everything I hoped for, charming characters, great performances, pretty solid directing (at times you forget you are supposed to be watching a low budget piece of schlock) and even some hard hitting emotional beats I wasn’t expecting.
This movie is not perfect by any means, but it was a lot of fun, and if you are a fan of this type of stuff, give it a watch, you might end up not regretting it.

Wait.
Your telling me that some random dude, made a low budget shark film, that is actually well made, tightly written, funny and charming?
No way
Being so real when I say that this has better use of colour than either Wicked movie.
Given that he's the only director to helm multiple consecutive films in this series (plus a random one about the jersey devil a little while back) I suppose Sheldon Wilson is the closest the "Maneater" series has to an auteurist vision, at least when it comes to this final stretch. And honestly, this has more "real movie" cred than almost any other film in this series - there's been a time jump, so maybe it's just a case of cameras getting better/cheaper, but this almost occasionally passes as something that could be shown in cinemas, as maybe a Fathom Event or something. It's still a step above netflix slop, at lest. I wasn't looking forward to this one that much…
Partly entertaining, mostly forgettable, "Shark Killer" is a sub-mediocre genre mashup that mixes crime drama, action thriller, and dangerous-animal horror into light-toned soup. It could all work, but the story (see title) and the production (limited, straight-to-video energy) have no intention to succeed. They both simply throw story beats, tones, performance styles, and genre gimmicks at the screen to see what sticks. Little does.
PRIME VIDEO 🖥
Picture and synopsis on Prime was very misleading, it was a shark titled film with hardly any shark action? I was a bit surprised by the opening credits as it looked like a comedy film! It wasn't that far from that tho! The film was ok, just ok as thete was a lot of Romcom elements as well, the main guy did remind me of Chris Pratt, if he was a lot taller. Arnold Vosloo stole the film tho, he was great in every scene and so menacing at times. So not what I wanted but another Shark film watched (well for a few minutes of the run time)
