Neo Noir: The History of Dangerous Women in the 90s

From the late 80s and throughout the 90s, we saw women getting to the job market, getting divorced, independent and, thus, becoming a potential threat to families. Historically, the threat of women owning their own sexuality has always been a major defiance to societal structures. The moral panic was mixed with the seductive power of the idea, and cinema served us with a generous fix of devilish blondes, ambitious girls and a whole new take on noir film.
