One of those documentaries where a great subject is significantly let down by bad editing and an unclear message. Marlene Cummins, an Aboriginal woman, activist, radio host and musician with a huge life, shares her story and in particular about her involvement with the Black Panthers back in the day. We learn that she's now struggling with a gambling addiction, and the filmmakers have apparently made her sit down and play the pokies in order to get a slow-motion shot of her doing that for the film.
One topic after another is introduced then quickly moved on from without a resolution. She travels to the US and sits down with Black Panther women for a reunion chat, but then the…
