I'm not saying anything remotely new by stating "2020 was dogshit".
And while I did watch/discover a lot of great new cinema, it was a period largely spent with my back turned to my favorite artform. I found myself instead retreating into old familar comforts...favorite podcasts, seasons of television I'd seen a million times, YouTube film essays...as a way to numb my brain more than anything else.
So one of my New Year's resolutions for 2021 is to begin a yearlong filmwatching project for A) funsies, and B) as a way to reignite and reinvigorate my passion for cinema (while broadening my horizons) after the demoralizing life-suck that was 2020.
#365Days365Movies And you know we're gonna have some parameters!

#365Days365Movies And you know we're gonna have some parameters!
1) I have to watch at LEAST one film, every single day, all year.
2) at LEAST four (4) of said films in a week need to be first time watches
3) I'll also be participating in #52FilmsByWomen and #Hooptober, as well as continuing my personal endless Genre Blindspots project
4) log it all on Letterboxd and FB, including writing up reviews for every film
Let's see how I do!
