This movie was one of the films I was the most hyped for at Cannes, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It was absolutely beautiful: the animation was incredible, but so was the story overall.
The Q&A with the director Kohei KADOWAKI was really great and interesting, and it added even more to the experience. It was his first feature-length film, and it was already so impressive.
Seeing both versions of the story through the perspectives of the two main characters was definitely a great choice.
This movie carries a lot of emotion while also showing how the past can deeply affect and sometimes destroy lives. But it also focuses on simpler, quieter moments that make the story feel deeply real and immersive.
