In part because the original cartoon reminds me a lot of one of my cousins, I checked out Masters of the Universe. 

Firstly, this movie owes so much to the Marvel formula of filmmaking. It’s comparable to how Star Wars inspired the ‘80s adaptation. As with that ‘80s movie, I think the decision to make this one another Earth-focused adaptation, dragged the movie’s pacing, especially in the first act.

The whole time I watched Possession (for the first time!), I only had one thing on my mind: What did Andrzej Żuławski do to Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill to get these performances out of them?

After weeks of waiting, I’m glad to say I was able to catch Frankenstein at the Naro Theater before it drops on Netflix. 

First off, Jacob Elordi is fantastic as The Creature. Despite some changes to his characterization, Elordi nails the character’s tragic and poetic nature. I wasn’t familiar with Elordi’s acting abilities before watching this movie, but I might check out his work in Saltburn soon.
