Wild film, I don't fully know what to say. Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift all in this film is like watching something haunted, or prophetic, or... I don't know. All building towards the part with the horses, inevitably.

I could listen to Leslie Feinberg all day. Also that identification with Joan of Arc, what a mood. Also the consistent gift of the connection between pre-Stonewall testimony and 90s queer life. Also asexual mention. Also the discussion of Butches. Also the movie shots. Also the gym. Also, also... simply every word out of hir mouth.

Things this movie gave me:

2. Power-couple Lawrence and Feisal
3. Asexual-gay Lawrence
4. Feeling like history was on a knifepoint and despite their best efforts neither Lawrence nor Feisal could tip it in the right direction, because at its core the power of the world has been in the hands of greedy, colonialist bastards for so long that two men - even two as driven as those two - couldn't shift that balance.
