This is not your average list of musical films. For starters, it doesn’t include the traditional musical (where people suddenly burst into song as if that’s normal).

Instead, this list contains fictional or ‘dramatised’ movies about music and the people who make it or can’t live without it. 

It includes:
1. Movies about singers, bands, musicians, and composers, either fictional or real (as long as it’s a dramatised version of real musicians) i.e. 
      - Musical Biopics
      - Musicians Acting as Themselves (or as Thinly-Veiled Versions)

Fictional musician categories include:
     - Let’s Start a Band!
     - Let’s Start a Choir or Singing Group!
     - Musician Mockumentaries
     - plus much, much more.

2. Movies where singing or playing music forms the crux of the story, including:
-    Films about Music Lovers with Strong Opinions about Music
-    Music-centred films with feel-good vibes. 
-    Somewhat Intense Movies about Pianists and other Classical Musicians
