It’s time for the second annual Summerween Challenge!
There are 13 weeks between the start of June and the end of August. With your help, I’ve put together 26 prompts to get us all watching some spooky movies while we enjoy these warm days! That’s an average of two movies per week, and if you finish early, feel free to double up on your favorite categories.
The rules are simple: make your own list with a similar title to mine, and add one movie for each of the prompts. Drop your link below if you want people to see what you're watching. Then watch them in order over the course of the summer, post a review for what you’ve watched,…

Then watch them in order over the course of the summer, post a review for what you’ve watched, adding the related prompt at the top of the post and “MDSW26” in your tags so I can easily find them. By the end of the summer, I’ll compile everything we watched into the second Summerween Master List.
I focused on summer-appropriate themes and specific horror niches for most of the prompts. Thank you to all of you who posted ideas last week to help me with some of these topics, you really came through! I put many hours into compiling these lists, but if you think of an idea that goes beyond the scope of the movies I’ve added, feel free to go for it. I’ll add them when I see them.
So without further adieu, here are the 26 prompts for this years challenge:
1. Spooky Sharks, Crocs, and Gators. (Suggested by Carly 🎃)
2. Reality TV Horror.
3. Watch a Found Footage movie that was released between The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. (Based on a suggestion by Val)
4. Travel Horror. (Suggested by Amy 🎃, returning from last year’s challenge)
5. Music Horror.
6. Watch a horror or thriller from the Double Digit Club.

15. Subterranean Horror. (Suggested by Val)
16. Watch a documentary about horror filmmaking.

My initial picks are below. Try to watch things you haven’t seen, but if you want to re-watch a couple of favorites that’s fine as well. Try not to watch short films unless you’re scrambling to finish at the end of August.
Alright that’s it. Off you go! Make your lists, and enjoy Summerween! :D
