My entry for the 2026 Ani-MAY-tion film challenge hosted by Letterboxd user Niall. This is my second attempt at this challenge, and I look forward to expanding the number of animated films I have seen throughout the month. Much like last year, I was glad to see that this challenge was officially being brought back for another year, with some prompts for suggested categories of animated films to watch.

Feel free to check out the original list for more information on how to join in the challenge (and have your entries counted), but the general idea is to watch 31 animated movies over the course of 31 days in May. The movies should all fit into the different categories described in the original list, and feel free to log and review them while also using the appropriate tags to make sure anyone following along can find your reviews.

In the Notes section you will find the categories that are being satisfied by each particular film, as well as how I plan to watch each one. I will rank this as I go, but for now it is mostly in order by the highest rated films (for the first 31 movies as of list creation, which are my "official entries," even though I could technically fulfill all the criteria with the first twenty movies as of list creation), followed by the bonus films I will attempt to watch after that (which are in order by average rating until you get to the Disney movies at the end, which are in chronological order). My list started the month with 55 feature films, but if I don't get any of those watched I will remove them at the end of the month (assuming I don't just extend this into June slightly).
