Greetings, Fright Fans!! Welcome back or welcome for the first time—like me, the nervous newbie clutching my Letterboxd account and pretending I totally know what I'm doing.

This is my inaugural year tackling The Podcast Macabre's sixth annual viewing challenge, and I'm equal parts excited and terrified (appropriately enough for horror). Fifty-two films. One year. One film per week. It sounds perfectly manageable until you remember I'm the person who takes three months to finish a 10-episode Netflix series because I "need to be in the right mood."

But here we are! I've assembled my list of 52 horror films with all the confidence of someone who's watched maybe 40% of the classics everyone references and has been faking their way through conversations about giallo for years. First-time watches are strongly encouraged—which works out perfectly since I've somehow never seen half the films people consider "essential." (Yes, I know. I know.)

I'll be watching at my own pace and in whatever order strikes my fancy, which will likely be "whatever's easiest to stream" mixed with "whatever I can convince my partner won't give them nightmares." Feel free to judge my choices, offer recommendations, or just point and laugh at my inevitable mispronunciation of Italian directors' names.
