this is a global, comprehensive list of our history in chronological order. HERE is how to watch each film. please comment any and every film you know so i can make sure its on here; i’d rather be safe than sorry. (i accept all Black queer films no matter the length, genre, production size or country of origin; indie Black queer filmmakers please let me know about your work so i can archive it)

i made this list because i want to archive our work. there’s been some confusion as to why some films are included so i will clear this up by saying i am including any film that has a Black queer character or person on screen or was directed/written by a Black queer person. to me, our film history is that. if you know about a film with a Black queer cinematographer, editor, production designer, gaffer, etc, please don’t hesitate to comment! i’d love to include them as well i just haven’t begun searching and i know that is a huge lapse in this archive (and the way film history is written in general). 

i am trying to find every single Black queer film so please help me. share this list! watch a Black queer film even if you’re not like us. our work deserves to be spotlighted past the handful of films society has deemed as “cinema.” i will be watching all of these films (slowly but surely) and writing about them at length the way each of these films deserve so stay tuned and let me know what you watch! i’d love to read all of your thoughts. there’s many films on here with zero reviews; let’s change that. i know many are inaccessible so i am working on getting the highest quality files for us which i will share publicly in the sheet linked above.
