Clearly one film can satisfy multiple criteria. Viewing and reviewing will begin at 12:01am CST on Sept 15th.
Update: I originally had the film the Chainsaws were Singing on my list. I didn't realize the film was still in the middle of its festival run, and there would be no way for me to view it. So instead I replaced it with The Touch. (10/27/25)
Update: I completed the challenge with just minutes to spare. I don't know if I'll be back next year. I think the problem was I didn't really watch too many of the films until October, and then I got to a point where I had to watch a film every night or I'd fall behind. And I did, this last day I watched the final three films. Also, I ended up leaving some of the films I wasn't as excited to watch towards the end so it really became a slog. Another thing is that while all of these films were labeled horror by Letterboxd (besides The Wizard of Oz), only two were really scary, being A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge and Us, which not all horror films need to be, and thank god for that, because I am still trying to be okay with being scared, but maybe there should have been a few more. That's my fault though, I choose the films (besides The Wizard of Oz). I found some new favorites though.
Some of my new favorite films which I recommend:
Crimes of the Future
Society
The Old Dark House
The Wicker Man
Tetsuo II: Body Hammer
Vampyr
The Last Man on Earth
Dawn of the Dead
Häxan
