Always a party. Always a joyful burden. My eighth go-round. Let's get to it. First a warning. I have little time to watch movies more than once. There are too many movies out there left to watch. Always a party. Always a joyful burden. My eighth go-round. Let's get to it. First a warning. I have little time to watch movies more than once. There are too many movies out there left to watch. I enjoy the challenge of meeting the criteria each year, but I'm not going to watch a movie again unless it's really worth it. I grew up in the 60s watching "The Wizard of Oz" faithfully every year when it came on. This was before video. This was before DVDs. This was before cable or streaming. You did not stop a movie. You did not choose a movie. A movie was programmed and you watched it or not. Once a year we could see "A Wizard of Oz." How many times have I seen it? Can't say. I didn't start keeping my list of films until 1966 when I was 9 going on 10. This is all to say, notwithstanding Cinemonster's unusual request to watch a particular film, I am respectfully declining to re-watch "The Wizard of Oz." I do highly recommend viewing the documentary "Lynch/Oz" (2022), especially in light of the passing of David Lynch. But let's get on to the list.
