Hooptober XII: All the Colors of the Dark
Limping back for year 5 (!) fresh off my first and hopefully only failure with my favorite list yet, full of films Zoomers would call "weird" that might appear on a ScreenRant list of the "Ten Trippiest Horror Movies of all Time 😵💫." We'll run through three or four cycles of psychedelic dreams, multicolored fantasias, and heady images. In between, we'll detour through other cross/inter category synergies: for the Zombie films, 3 remakes of Dawn of the Dead and 2 punk rock zombie films; mulitple films about cursed items including two about a shopkeeper that sells you death trinkets; at least 4 films set in the Caribbean or the Pacific about local syncretic religions; and as always, a number of choices in honor of those we've lost this year (Lynch, Tony Todd, Wings Hauser), including a full "Ozzfest" block of Prince of Darkness themed films.
As always, my list is all new to me films (bar the Wizard of Oz and Prince of Darkness, which isn't part of the challenge proper anyway), with one film for each individual criterion (i.e. no film is used to satisfy multiple criteria, although there are plenty of films that do overlap). I will watch them all in the order listed below. This year I am starting on September 15 rather than October 1 as I did in the past in order to make sure my lofty goal can be reached.
Cinemonster's criteria below, and see the notes on each selection for the category it fulfills:

And 1 Tobe Hooper Film (There must ALWAYS be a Hooper film)
***FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO DO EXTRA WORK: WATCH Burn Witch Burn, German Chainsaw Massacre & Trick or Treat (1986).
