Another year, another Hoop-Tober Halloween, all again courtesy of the great Cinemonster. That of course means it's business as usual, watching another batch of horror (and semi-horror) films from all kinds of different decades, countries and sub-genres.
The genre variety is pretty much what I did last year, from old black-and-white monster movies to more modern slasher flicks and psychological thrillers. I'm including some rewatches of films that I did in my 2015 Hoop-Tober, notably a couple that I never got the chance to review.
And as per usual, I'm doing the double-bill thing again, because watching two films together is just more satisfying, innit?
And unfortunately, I've had to heavily decrease the number of films from last year due to the rather big toll it put on me. I'll also have to break a few rules as I'm satisfied enough with my current lineup, and I really don't want to add some extra films just to meet every criteria. It's more down to the fact that I'm a heavily involved university student these days, and I simply just don't have the time (and patience) to watch and review so many films at once. 45 is my maximum limit (originally 40), and it's staying at that as far as I'm concerned.
I hope you understand CM, and thanks again for hosting this great event that brings all of Letterboxd's horror fans together.
Dedicated to the memory of Jonathan Demme, George A. Romero, and Tobe Hooper.
